Schimberg Group was selected to renovate the world renowned BeachHouse™ Restaurant on Bradenton Beach following the successful modernization of another Chiles Restaurant Group property, The Sandbar on Anna Maria Island.

For generations, the focus of activity was on the beach deck which bustles with locals and tourists year-round. The interior had been ignored. The bar was tucked in a corner and the restaurant had low dark ceilings and dated finishes. The objective was to open the space, design a colorful energetic retail area, bring waterfront views to every seat in the house, and give the dining area a more sophisticated feel while remaining true to the spirit of this iconic beach hangout.

By reorienting and expanding the bar, the team maximized extraordinary Gulf views. Schimberg Group also gave the restaurant a true lounge area with a retro banquette which is distinct from the spacious dining room. A fresh and vibrant retail area welcomes patrons into the restaurant where they are greeted by a wonderful play of colors, fabric patterns and beach-chic light fixtures that pull the sand and water into the space - creating for the owner and guests a new dining experience.

Turning to the exterior, the deck was updated with two new modern pavilions connected by an automatic louvered trellis system, allowing the entire exterior deck to be covered throughout the year. Included in the deck modifications is a new bar, a sunken lounge area and a wedding pavilion, completing the contemporary restaurant’s transformation.

"Our relationship with Schimberg Group has grown from a hard-working back-and-forth understanding of each others' aesthetic to a comfort level on my part that their ultimate design decisions will be beyond successful."
